Kevin Costner Scores Some Home Runs At ‘Field Of Dreams’

Kevin Costner joined a few thousand people, including his sons and a whole host of celebrities, at the Field of Dreams film site this weekend for some top class Baseball.

In fact, Costner was the celeb to score some of the first runs on the field on Saturday, hitting a ball way into right field and he took two bases; “The Kinsellas,” Costner’s team, rounded out the innings with a respectable four runs.

NBC Sportscaster Bob Costas, who interviewed Costner, said:

“Look over your shoulder at all of the fathers and sons and daughters playing catch. They have their own backyards or a park across the street. It means something different to play catch here.”

Olivia Corpman and her younger sister, Chloe, who were also playing ball at the event, clearly loved it as they told their mother: “Mom! Sign me up for baseball!”

Their proud mother, Amy Corpman, said to reporters: “There aren’t a whole lot of movies made in Iowa, and this one’s not even an hour from Waterloo.”

Actor Timothy Busfield also spoke to reporters at the event about how special the Field of Dreams is:

“There’s a magic to this field that wasn’t there when we were shooting. It was just a film location. What has happened is it’s become a place that even I’m affected by … you can feel the film out there.”

Fans were also clearly thrilled when Kevin Costner took to the field with his two young sons, Cayden, aged 7 and Hayes, aged 5. The fans kept their distance but clapped and encouraged the boys as they played.

As Costner noted to reporters: “We don’t usually have this many people around when we do this,” but his sons didn’t seem shy or embarrassed and just seemed to enjoy playing ball with their dad.

All in all, the game was a wonderful tribute and was enjoyed by many fans and movie enthusiasts alike.
