Man Saves Kitten – You’ll Never Guess What He Did To Rescue It

Errand Frazier heard the sound of a kitten coming from within his Chevy truck parked outside of his house in Vero Beach, Florida. Being an animal lover, he looked everywhere for signs of the kitten and found nothing. He wasn’t certain the noises coming from his truck were a kitten though, a CNN iReport explained. So, Frazier left and open can of cat food under one of his truck’s tires and set up a camera for the night.

The next morning, Frazier said that he found the food had been eaten but the video didn’t pick anything up. Frazier then, reportedly thought he must have been imagining the sounds and headed off on a fishing trip. When he arrived at the canal where he was planning to fish, he heard the kitten again. That’s when Errand did what many men would never even consider doing:

Errand Frazier saved a kitten by cutting a hole in his truck.

Frasier got metal cutters out of his toolbox and cut open the body of his truck bed. Frazier and his wife are both animal lovers and he thought nothing of ruining the body of his truck to save whatever animal was stuck inside. Peeling the metal back from his truck, he discovered that he was not imagining the noises. Inside the bed of his truck bed he saw a kitten that was approximately eight-weeks old. “I seen this little rascal peeking at me,” Frazier explained. “I said, ‘What in the world? You hitched a ride!'” The kitten was under the bed of his truck and he couldn’t reach it. At that point, Frazier realized he was going to need some advice. He drove very carefully to the Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County in Florida. There, he asked a staff member for help. “I said, ‘Ma’am, there’s a kitten that hitchhiked from my home and I can’t get it,” Frazier explained. “She said, ‘Man, you did a job on your truck.'”

Tonya Martinez and Maria Valencia helped get the kitten out of the truck while the animal care supervisor stood waiting with a special animal carrier, according to Janet Winikoff. Frazier left the kitten in the capable hands of the shelter. There they named the kitten “Megan.” The kitten has since been adopted by a family according to Sue Kelly, the adoption counselor.

The shelter’s staff posted the heartwarming story to their Facebook page. When their followers heard what Frazier was willing to do to save the kitten stuck in his truck, several of them offered to help pay for repairs on the Chevy. Friday, the shelter set up a special “kitty truck fund” to help Frazier. Cindy, Errand’s wife, said the couple was very thankful and moved by the support, because the truck is their only vehicle. Cindy said that they were not even planning to repair the hole Frazier cut into it, because they would not have been able to afford it. The couple also said that they weren’t really worried about the damage to the truck, which they consider worth it, and would rather people would just donate to the Humane Society to help other animals instead. “We really never expected all of this, to be honest, but God does blessings every day,” Cindy Frazier said. “That’s the reason that little kitten just showed up here – because God knew we would do whatever we needed to do to make sure that kitten was safe.”

“You can’t believe how good it feels to have helped little Megan,” Mr. Frazier told the Humane Society. He explained that he didn’t think twice about cutting a hole in his Chevy to rescue the kitten and stated, “Believe me, I would chop my truck into a million pieces if that’s what it took to save an animal’s life.
