Grumpy Cat To Star In ‘Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Eve’ Movie, Is It Worth Seeing?

Grumpy Cat, A.K.A Tardar Sauce, isn’t just an internet sensation which has been “liked” and “shared” by thousands of people online. Oh no! Now, the moody looking little feline is getting its own Christmas movie. You read it here first!

The Hollywood Reporter said the film, called Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Eve, is morph of a “a little Home Alone and a little Die Hard,” and will feature on the US network, Lifetime.

The movie, written by Tim Hill and Jeff Morris, will center around the trials and tribulations of a lonely pet-store cat and a 12-year-old girl who is able to communicate with it.

Interestingly, the channel’s spokesman, Arturo Interian, revealed that it was his daughters, who are big fans of the grumpy cat, that were the inspiration for the movie.

“It brings fun and irreverence that we haven’t had at Lifetime. We’re so known for our heartfelt sentimentality that it will poke fun at those stereotypes,” said Interian.

The film is expected to begin shooting in the next few months, as producers look for a suitable human “Grumpy Cat” voice to join the team.

Tardar Sauce, which got nicknamed Grumpy Cat for obvious reasons, became an internet sensation overnight back in 2012 when the brother of Tabatha Bundesen, her owner, posted a meme style photo on Reddit.

Since that fateful day, the Grumpy Cat has spawned a book, a movie deal for Here Comes The Boom, a coffee product, and has already enjoyed worldwide attention and considerable success.

Her manager, Ben Lashes, is very excited about the upcoming movie:

“When I go home for Christmas, there are movies that we always watch. It becomes a tradition. I like that aspect of Christmas movies. I’m sure she’ll have the poshest trailer a cat has ever had on set,” he joked.

If you’re a fan of the Grumpy Cat, or simply a cat lover in general, keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming Christmas movie on Lifetime.
