Rocketboom Signs Lisa Nova

Rocketboom, the ground breaking video blog is growing, with news today from founder Andrew Baron the the show has signed YouTube star Lisa Nova.

Nova will head Rocketboom’s West Coast news desk, and will front two episodes of Rocketboom per week on weekends, as part of an expansion of the show from 5 days a week to 7 days.

It’s a great signing by Baron, who’s on a role after recently inking a distribution deal with Sony in August said to be 7 figure range. Nova has built a cult following on YouTube with her pisstakes of popular culture and other missives. Baron also noted that shows outside Rocketboom itself (but part of the Rocketboom company) would also be expanding.

Ive said previously that I’m not a huge fan of Rocketboom the show, but I am a fan of what Baron has done with it, particularly his mastery of distribution channels, arguably the best in the business. With Nova on board I might just have to start tuning in again.
