WWE News: Ex-Power Ranger Jason David Frank Continues To Call Out CM Punk

It seems that CM Punk cannot escape the limelight. He leaves the WWE and tries to live quiet life away from the spotlight and he simply keeps finding himself part of it. Oh the price of fame I suppose. In that price of fame, others like to share that spotlight or simply create buzz.

Former Power Rangers legend Jason David Frank, known as Tommy in the series, started to call CM Punk out dating back to around the January period. It was nothing too crazy to begin with. Frank simply said he’d love to take on Punk in a classic MMA fight, all money going to charity.

Frank is a trained martial artist with decades of experience in his craft. He is a 7th degree black belt in Karate and a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. On top of that, he has trained in various martial arts and won many awards doing so. So much so that he was able to blend his various experience in styles into one American Karate style known as Toso Kune Do.

He is currently 5-0 in his MMA career, which isn’t bad to say the least. All of this and he is 40 years of age, a couple years older than CM Punk. However, Punk isn’t lost when it comes to real world fighting. Punk regularly trained in martial arts and has even worked with the Gracie’s when he was in town to be at one of their studios. Obviously the guy is good at what he does.

On top of that, Punk has managed to take a lot of damage in his time and he is still walking. His cardio is fantastic, as every wrestler’s should be to do well.

Frank vs Punk would sell tickets. The problem is that CM Punk does not want to do the fight and has taken the high road and avoided even coming close to answering yes or no to Frank’s request. Even if he wanted to, he couldn’t just yet. His WWE contract expires in July. He is not allowed to do anything such as MMA match ups while under the deal. He most likely cannot do anything like it until his the 90 day clause all WWE contracts have is up.

So the soonest Punk could commit to doing anything would be by around September. That’s if he wants to do it at all.

That still doesn’t seem to faze Frank, who decided to take a shot at Punk by making new T-Shirt with CM Punk’s “Best In the World” shirt mocked up with Frank’s name all over it.

This is just another thing to take a shot at Punk as everyone knows. However, could it ignite something within Punk to make him want to shut the Green Ranger up?

Frank may not want to do too much damage to himself, as another Power Rangers movie is in the works and he is set to star in it. That being said, getting hurt too much or damaging the face might be a bad idea. So the fight would have to take place as soon as possible or after filming is up for the Power Rangers film.

CM Punk has managed to avoid the whole thing when it comes to Frank….barely even mentioning him. WWE clearly would have nothing to do with it and once his contract is up, CM Punk can do as he please and fight anyone that moves. Until then, he is under WWE protection.

Personally speaking I’d love to see CM Punk versus Jason David Frank in an MMA style fight. The issue is that the chances of it happening are slim to none I’m afraid. We shall see if something crazy happens and it goes down.
