Six-Year-Old Girl Mauled By Pit Bulls [Video]

Two pit bulls viciously attacked a six-year-old girl who was outside playing with her brother in a Cincinnati neighborhood.

Reportedly, the pit bulls tossed her around like a rag doll and destroyed her face. Paramedics rushed the little girl, Zaniabou Drame, to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital where she is listed in critical condition.

The pit bulls belonged to a neighbor, and apparently there were other instances when the dogs got loose in the area.

Responding police officers opened fire on the pit bulls and killed them. See dash camera video embedded below which includes the understandably frantic 911 emergency calls that came in on Wednesday evening. One caller can be heard telling the dispatcher that the animals were slinging the child all over the street and that there is blood all over.

Neighbors, including their girl’s mom wielding a baseball bat, tried to fight the dogs off of the child prior to the arrival of the officers.

The girl’s grandfather told WLWT that “the dog had her by the face so the dog pulled her skin off, they broke her jaw, her tongue is gone.”

According to officer Kyle Strunk, “It’s really indescribable and something no person should ever have to see and something we’ll never forget. I don’t want to get too graphic, but I saw the brown dog, which was the bigger of the two dogs, and he had the girl’s head in his mouth. He was slinging it around, thrashing his head back and forth with her in his mouth.”

Another officer held the child in his arms until EMTs arrived on the scene.

Police who searched the pit bull owner’s home arrested him on weapons and drug charges. Additional charges in connection with the brutal pit bull attack may be forthcoming. Cops also turned over a third pit bull to animal control.
