New Gears of War 3 developer diary sneaks out from Comic Con

Gears of War fans attending Comic Con were treated to a brand new Gears of War 3 developer diary from Epic Games during the Gears of War 3 panel. For the rest of us, Epic has kindly sent out the video for those of us at home to enjoy.

The video highlights Gears of War 3‘s decidedly different setting in contrast to previous Gears of War titles. Rather than having an organized army heading the resistance against the Locust, this time around only a handful are left to gear up for humanity’s last stand.

Story and setting is a large focus for the video, but the team does touch on the gameplay for a bit. Epic’s Cliff Blezsinski provides us a glimpse at the Silverback, an exosuit that packs some pretty heavy firepower.

Gears of War 3 is due out on the Xbox 360 September 20 in North America and Europe, September 22 in Japan. Watch the Gears of War 3: Crescendo developer diary below.
