Are Uma Thurman And Quentin Tarantino Heating Up?
Quentin Tarantino and Uma Thurman’s relationship is a typical one that you see in Hollywood. The accomplished cult director made Uma Thurman his muse by directing her in Pulp Fiction and the Kill Bill series, and throughout the films, the two seemed the share a mutual adoration and admiration for each other.
It was never a secret that Tarantino had a bit of a crush on her, and since Thurman is suddenly single, sources tell US Weekly that a romance between the two longtime friends is finally blossoming.
A source told US Weekly that Tarantino is trying his best to comfort his longtime friend. The two also spent time together at the Cannes Film Festival. During that time, they shared a villa and sparks flew.
Apparently, this wasn’t the first time the Thurman and Tarantino romanced each other.
“They had a thing and got together again recently. He’s loved her for years,” said one source.
During the closing ceremony, Thurman and Tarantino walked arm and arm on the red carpet. The two also acted as presenters at the film festival on May 24.
A day before, the two joined John Travolta for a Pulp Fiction reunion. The film led a wave of powerful independent films and invented a style all its own when it was released in 1994. Pulp Fiction proved to be a breakout moment for Thurman and started a blossoming friendship with director Quentin Tarantino.
A source explained the relationship between Quentin and Uma:
“There has always been an attraction. She has indulged from time to time, and that’s how their relationship has always worked.”
It seems like opposites attract when it comes to Thurman and Tarantino’s relationship. During a 2004 interview, Thurman divulged what made them work as a pair of friends, but definitely left people wondering about the nature of their relationship.
“I think we’re really different people actually, but that’s what’s fun about talking to each other. We have very different perspectives. He’s a very extroverted, public person. I’m a very introverted person. We’re just very different characters, but somehow or other…”
At the time, the actress trailed off and shrugged.
A second source said of their time together since Uma’s split from Arpad “Arki” Busson:
“They go out to lunch in NYC when he’s around. He always tries to find a role for her, or have her involved somehow.”
Timing was a huge issue for the pair, and it was mostly on Uma’s side. The actress was married to actor Ethan Hawke before the pair divorced in 2004. She has two children, Maya, 16, and Levin, 12, from her marriage with Hawke. As for her relationship with Busson, she shares a 22-month-old daughter named Rosalind.
Over the course of his career, Tarantino has been linked to Mira Sorvino and Kathy Griffin.
