Scarlett Johansson Rumored For Dolly Parton Movie

Scarlett Johansson is apparently well-equipped to play Dolly Parton in a movie.

Since the country music singer is a legend in the industry, it’s was really only a matter of time before someone decided to tell her life story on the big screen. In addition to a feature film, Parton is also reportedly working on a musical. However, it’s unclear who will end up playing Dolly when the cameras finally start to roll.

The Huffington Post reports that some people working behind-the-scenes on the project suggested Scarlett Johansson for the role. According to the singer, their reasoning may have something to do with certain natural assets that make her a Hollywood sex symbol.

“Well, you know what, I’m doing a musical of my life story — and I’m also doing a movie version! When we started talking about a movie, people had mentioned Scarlett Johansson. I guess she’s full bosomed,” she recently explained to People magazine.

Unfortunately for Scarlett Johansson fans who would love to see the Avengers alum portray the country music legend on the big screen, this is nothing more than a rumor at the moment. Although this writer could see her in the role, that doesn’t necessarily mean that producers will feel the same way.

Since Parton definitely had sex appeal back in the day, there’s a chance Johansson may decide to skip this project altogether. The Inquisitr previously reported that the actress is a little tired of folks putting so much focus on her famous body.

“I don’t want to be the ingénue any more. That part I’m happy about. It’s nice to be glamorous, but I don’t want to always have to be trendy and glamorous and an object of desire. I don’t want to be stuck in that forever. Because it doesn’t last,” Johansson recently explained to The Weekend Australian Magazine.

She added, “With [male actors] it just doesn’t happen the same way. You can be every woman’s fantasy and nobody thinks twice about the fact that you have eight kids or whatever.”

While you’re waiting to see what happens with the proposed Dolly Parton movie, Scarlett and director Luc Besson are hoping that you’ll spend some money on their upcoming action flick Lucy later this year. The film, which finds the actress portraying a drug mule with superhuman abilities, opens in theaters across the US on August 8.
