No New ‘Game Of Thrones’? Watch This Preview To See The First Clash Of Prince Oberyn Vs. Gregor Clegane in ‘The Mountain And The Viper’

If you’re like us, you’re disappointed in the lack of a new episode of HBO’s hit series, Game of Thrones, this week.

Beware, for here be spoilers.

As the United States takes a day to honor those who have died serving in their nation’s armed forces, many an entitled feather was ruffled when Game of Thrones took Sunday night off as well.

But fear not, ye belly-aching Westerosi masses, for if this Game of Thrones Episode 8 preview clip is any indicator, there will be tons of action headed your way in one week’s time.

We’ve got Ramsey Snow and his pal, Reek, who the deranged Ramsey will send to the Iron Islands under the guise of Theon Greyjoy; this should not be seen without some semblance of irony, for despite what Roose Bolton’s bastard has made him believe, that’s the name under which Reek was actually born.

Then we see Sansa Stark, Game of Thrones’ resident ingenue, finally opening her eyes to the treachery of Littlefinger, Lord Petyr Baelish. Of course, it’s kind of hard to ignore when a guy chucks his wife, her Aunt Lysa Arryn, out the moon door after trying to put the moves on Sansa.

Next, this Game of Thrones preview turns its attention north to The Wall, where Jon Snow is trying to marshal the Night’s Watch against the impending attack of Mance Rayder’s wildling forces. If only the brass would stop playing the steward card to put Jon in his place. Last we checked, none of them were swinging Longclaw, as bequeathed by Lord Commander Mormont.

Then, of course, it’s the moment for which we’ve all been waiting: Tyrion Lannister’s trial by combat, which pits The Red Viper of Dorne, Prince Oberyn Martell, serving as Tyrion’s champion against his sister’s murderer and general creep The Mountain Gregor Clegane, champion for the court. Weapons are drawn and the first thrust is made. Who will win out and what will ultimately be Tyrion’s fate?

Find out six days from now on the next episode of HBO’s Game of Thrones. In the meantime, you could also check out “Game of Stoned,” with Seth Rogen and Snoop recapping the latest episode while high.
