These days when we think about top selling digital albums in the digital space the names that come to mind include Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Jay-Z and numerous others but this week that honor goes to a singer who’s voice isn’t necessarily as pop as it is poetry, English singer Adele.
The songstress with her undeniable sound has become the top digital album seller of all time for a single album, raking up 1.017 million online sales for her sophomore release 21, sales numbers that put her ahead of former number one Eminem who pushed 1.005 million copies of his latest album Recovery.

What’s just as impressive about Adele’s feat is that unlike Eminem, Lady Gaga and other acts that take the top spot her album has continued to sell impressively week after week thanks to positive word of mouth and radio play which has kept sales solid since the album was released on Feb. 22 in the United States.
