Shocking Video: 11-Month-Old Baby Forced To Parasail By Her Own Parents!
Controversy has erupted in the southern Indian state of Kerala after a video clip showing an 11-month-old baby girl being forcefully made to parasail was shared thousands of time through social media. The incident occurred at a popular beach called Muzhappilangad in the northern Kerala district of Kannur.
An amateur video shot by a local who was present in the area was first uploaded to Facebook and then to YouTube, after which it went viral. The parasailing incident is said to have taken place nearly two weeks ago. In the video, the baby is clearly distressed and is wailing as her own mother helps harness the safety belts on to the parasail. The baby is then pulled up in the air – as her parents and locals cheer. All this in the name of a promotional activity.
According to local news channel MediaOne, the parasailing incident was part of a promotional activity by a low cost airline company. Local news channels also report that the parents of the little baby were shockingly okay with their baby being used as a promotional tool.
What is even more appalling is the fact that the supposedly illegal activity was inaugurated by a senior police official of the area. A popular actor from the regional film industry, Vineeth, was also present at the event, another TV channel reports.
Authorities of the state have now decided to press charges against the organizers and the parents of the baby for knowingly exposing a child to danger. The district collector (the chief administrative and revenue officer of an Indian district) P Bala Kiran said that he would investigate the matter.
Kiran added that, under Indian law, parasailing is an adventure sport, and there are strict laws regarding the involuntary participation of an individual. India’s National Human Rights Commission has also decided to act against the people behind this dubious event. The parents, in their defense, have claimed that their baby “likes” to parasail. That’s right, a wailing 11-month-old baby that loves to parasail.
