Polanski’s Victim Emerges for Premiere
I wonder what’s going through Roman Polanski’s head right now? The premiere of the film “Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired,” which documents his “public scandal and private tragedy” hit the States this week, and was attended not only by throngs of celebs and directors, but by the victim herself, Samantha Geimer. Who was 13 years old at the time all of this went down in 1978, when Polanski pleaded guilty to raping her.
Roman Polanski, however, is still feeling shy. As you probably would, if you were facing jail time if you came back to the States. Keep in mind that he’s been directing films since he fled to Europe, including Academy Award-winning “The Pianist.”
Rumor has it that Polanski will be making an appearance at Cannes when the documentary premieres there. Going to a film about your own humiliation and shady past? This really is a man who “hasn’t got a reputation to tarnish.”
