Luke Evans To Star In Action Thriller ‘SAS: Red Notice’

Welsh actor Luke Evans is a busy man and continues to sign on to new projects. His latest is called SAS: Red Notice, which will be directed by Nick Love (The Sweeney).

The film will be produced by Altitude Film Entertainment, Parabolic Pictures and Vertigo Films. Evans is slated to play the hero, Tom Buckingham, a SAS (Special Air Services) operator who is in a fight to save his relationship and gets called into a hostage situation.

Based on the novel of the same name by Andy McNab, the story’s plot is as follows, according to the author’s website:

“Deep beneath the English Channel, a small army of vicious terrorists has seized control of the Eurostar to Paris, taken 400 hostages at gunpoint – and declared war on a government that has more than its own fair share of secrets to keep.”

“One man stands in their way. An off-duty SAS soldier is hiding somewhere inside the train. Alone and injured, he’s the only chance the passengers and crew have of getting out alive. Meet Andy McNab’s explosive new creation, Sergeant Tom Buckingham, as he unleashes a whirlwind of intrigue and retribution in his attempt to stop the terrorists and save everyone on board – including Delphine, the beautiful woman he loves.”

McNab has been instrumental in bringing his story to the big screen and is thrilled to be working with Luke Evans, one of the most sought after actors in the world:

“I am very excited to be working with Nick and Luke. I have admired Nick’s work for years and Luke’s involvement as Tom Buckingham makes this an incredibly exciting project to be involved in.”

For his part, director Nick Love had this to say:

“SAS is a fantastic project and I am thrilled to be working with Andy McNab and Luke Evans in what will be a very modern action thriller.”

Luke Evans, who is a former musical theater actor, has made some high profile movies in the last few years. He starred in Immortals, The Raven, The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug, and Fast And Furious 6, among others.

In a recent Q&A on Twitter, Evans said he was looking forward to working on smaller scale movies with indie studios in the coming years.

Luke Evans will star in Dracula Untold later this year, playing the Impaler himself and is getting ready to shoot a reboot of The Crow, playing the lead role of the haunted musician, Eric Draven.
