Scooter Braun ‘Proud’ As Justin Bieber Impresses In Cannes: ‘He’s Back’ [Video]

Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun tweeted that the singer was a popular guest at the Vanity Fair – Giorgio Armani Cannes party over the weekend. So, we’re asking, is Bieber “back” as has been suggested?

Justin Bieber hit Cannes in a big way over the weekend, proving a “high photo-op demand” guest at an A-list party who Jennifer Lawrence, among many, made a bee-line to meet.

So wrote Vanity Fair, who co-hosted the Hotel du Cap d’Antibes affair with fashion designer Giorgio Armani to celebrate the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival.

Lawrence was reportedly overheard saying, “I want to meet Bieber!” the moment she heard he had arrived. The pair met and apparently it was pleasant, although the actress refused a photo request from Vanity Fair because she wanted the introduction to be as “real people.”

According to the NYT’s Jacob Bernstein, Bieber “spent much of VF party huddled with the head of the Dubai Film Commission and told him ‘I love Dubai.'”

The 20-year-old was also spotted making nice with fashion designer Diane von Fürstenberg, DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, Entourage actor Adrian Grenier, and Brit model Suki Waterhouse.

Other high-octane guests included: Harrison Ford, Ed Norton, Adrian Brody, Cate Blanchett, Naomi Watts, Sylvester Stallone, Rosario Dawson, Gemma Aterton, Robert Pattinson, Liam Hemsworth, Russell Crowe, Julianne Moore, Gael Garcia Bernal, and many more.

In other words, it was a great party for Bieber to make a very good impression at. One man couldn’t be more delighted.

Manager, Scooter Braun, took to Twitter on Sunday to share a text sent from someone who may or may not have been IAC chairman Barry Diller, who reportedly escorted the singer at the Vanity Fair Armani party.

“Great text to get about @justinbieber tonight. #proud,” Braun tweeted, including a link to an Instagam screengrab.

It’s the exit line of the message that lingers, and it’s likely something Justin Bieber fans will want to believe.

Notwithstanding that a significant proportion of media reporting on the Canadian singer is negatively-skewed — and at times — misleading, these haven’t been the best 14 months for the Bieber brand.

After an incident-prone Believe tour, paparazzo clashes, accusations of reckless driving, and battery last year, 2014 saw Bieber accused of egging his former neighbor’s California home then arrested on suspicion of DUI in Florida and charged with assault in Toronto, within the first month.

Since then, a new accusation of attempted robbery – which is disputed as false according to one eyewitness – and a pile of paparazzo-led lawsuits have provided ample work for Bieber’s lawyers.

Nevertheless, the “Confident” singer impressed in Cannes and the fact that a huge star such as Lawrence wanted to meet him either speaks to Bieber’s infamy or charisma.

Following the Vanity Fair-Armani bash, the heartthrob partied without incident at the Gotha nightclub with Busta Rhymes, celebrating his 42nd birthday with Paris Hilton and others.

On Sunday, Bieber smartened up his style donning one half of a tuxedo suit paired with blue jeans, a white shirt and completed with a groomed, preppy hairstyle. The look was a more sophisticated one for the singer.

Earlier that evening, the singer teased fans with an Instagram photo of his suave image.

Justin captioned it, “Lord knows.”

As it turns out, Bieber’s Jay Gatsby makeover was for Participant Media’s tenth anniversary bash aboard the “Oasis” superyacht at which he reportedly stayed for around an hour.

Lindsay Lohan wasn’t so welcome. According to Variety film editor, Ramin Setoodeh, she and her entourage were escorted off the yacht by the Captain after attempting to crash the bash.

Before the boat party, Bieber popped into the Bungalow 8 bar for The Weinstein Company and Worldview Entertainment’s soiree.

Justin later ended the night revisiting Gotha and partying with The Expendables 3 cast at their Cannes throwdown, with the singer — shirtless in the club — jamming with Wesley Snipes at one point.

Bieber’s smarter and reportedly “respectful” attitude in Cannes comes after a report from TMZ that he is embracing a healthier lifestyle.

Citing sources, the outlet said the singer is spending more time on physical training and has reconnected with Braun and his mom, Pattie Mallette.

For his part, Justin’s tweets from Cannes have been even more positive than usual. “Life is good,” he posted the day he arrived in the Côte d’Azure.

The next day he wrote, “Loving life,” later adding, “Life is beautiful” shortly before winning the Top Social Artist Award at Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards.

So, is Bieber “back”? One weekend in Cannes is too early to tell.

But if so, lets hope his return to form continues.
