Could we see Kandi Burruss fired because of NeNe Leakes? When asked that question, both her and Cynthia Bailey were adamant that the so-called Queen Bee of Real Housewives of Atlanta could not pull that move off. Interestingly enough, this topic came up at about the same time that NeNe herself might be fired for Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 7.
In a related report by The Inquisitr, a fight between Porsha and Kenya Moore led to police being called and the other Real Housewives of Atlanta reportedly banded together to keep Porsha on the show, vowing to strike if Bravo producers decided to boot her from the series. But NeNe claims the RHOA girls would never work “together to be going to bat for Porsha. We don’t collectively do anything.”
The reason that people say NeNe could get someone fired is because of her relationship with RHOA executive producer Andy Cohen. After all, NeNe is already saying Cynthia should be booted because she “brings nothing to show.” But Cohen doesn’t have control over who is hired or fired, and both Kandi Burruss and Cynthia re-affirmed this was the case in a recent interview.
On the Rickey Smiley Show, the two women were asked if they felt that NeNe could have them fired. Kandi exploded: “Are you kidding me?” But Cynthia took the question more seriously:
“At the end of the day, although NeNe has been on the show the longest — there is a certain respect that I have for her that comes with that — however, last time I checked, NeNe’s not an executive at Bravo that’s making those decisions. NeNe’s talent, just like I am, just like Kandi is… just like Phaedra and Porsha and Kenya is.”
Kandi agreed with that assessment:
“I think that what everybody on the show needs to understand is that everybody together is what makes the show good. One person on the show, you’re not checking for it. Since the beginning, our ratings have double every year almost. Everybody can say that they brought something to the table. The first year that show started it was only like one million viewers, or whatever. I know when I came on it doubled, and when [Cynthia and Peter] came on, it went up even more. So let’s be for real about this.”
The rumor that Bravo producers may have NeNe Leakes fired is apparently due to her wanting to have more power than the average cast member. A source claims Leakes’ demands were “unrealistic” and that she was asked not to return because she wanted a large raise and “she wanted to have a say on who she filmed with, and other crazy stuff.”
