Superbad star and Hollywood funny man Jonah Hill has revealed that he is pushing himself to lose weight and get into shape.

Hill, the formerly robust, 27-year-old star of Get Him to Greek, appeared at the British Academy of Film and Television Art’s “Brits to Watch” event in Los Angeles on Saturday showing off a new, trim physique.

Although he wasn’t positive about the specific number of pounds that he had shed, Jonah explained that he made the lifestyle change because he “thought it was important to be healthier.”

“It’s not fun,” Hill told the LA Times, referring to his weight loss efforts. “I wouldn’t say it’s the most fun endeavor I’ve ever took on in my life — but it’s important. And I’m enjoying it. If I eat something unhealthy now, I kind of feel a little weird and my body hurts.”

Hill, who is reportedly teaming with actor Mark Wahlberg for a action-comedy titled Good Time Gang, also recently finished filming the movie adaptation of 21 Jump Street, which is due out on March 16th 2012.

Watch the LA Times interview below to hear Hill talk about British celebrities, 21 Jump Street, and his amazing weight loss transformation.

Good job Jonah! Was worried he'd go the Chris Farley route there, for a second.

I don't like him skinny. Fat guys are funnier for some reason.

I want everyone that struggles with their weight to know that I do not endorse the above comment :) . With that said, I understand that Hill's films have exploited his weight for humor, but I guess I'd rather that he live a longer and healthier life, hehe.

  4. Ive heard & seen alot of people ragging on Jonah's weight loss-if u think about it though..some of our most talented comics have passed away due to or having part in their deaths-Sam Kineson, John Candy, Chris Farley, Robin Harris…not to mention family & loved ones some of us can immediately relate to-in short I guess there's always someone to bring you down-screw 'em Jo!
