NTT DoCoMo Going Green, Powering Cell Towers With The Sun, Biofuel and Wind

The team at NTT DoCoMo wants to go green and to achieve that goal they are planning to announce cell phone towers that are powered by the goodness of our big yellow sun and other green energy sources.
In 2012 the Japanese cell phone provider will add ten “green transmission stations” to their arsenal of towers. According to the company the towers will be powered by biofuels, wind and solar energy, assuring that each tower has some source of energy at all times.
Not only will the towers help the environment, they will help ensure that power outages throughout the area do not as greatly affect cell phone usage, an important consideration during times of storm outages which Japan has unfortunately experienced all too much in 2011.
