Wiz Khalifa Might Collaborate With Florida Georgia Line

Wiz Khalifa could venture into the land of country music very soon.

Although some might scoff at the idea of blending rap and country into one gooey ball of musical joy, Florida Georgia Line recently proved the formula was a recipe for success. The country group famously tapped Nelly to help out with their tune “Cruise,” suggesting that fans don’t mind blending genres when the mix is just right.

According to Taste of Country, there’s a possibility that rapper Wiz Khalifa could collaborate with the aforementioned band in the near future. Unfortunately, details about the project are few and far between at the moment. Apparently it’s a little difficult to pin Khalifa down these days.

“We’ve been in there for a couple months now, just really taking our time and chipping away at it. We’ve got a couple of awesome songs… that we’re pumped about everybody hearing,” FGL’s Brian Kelley explained during a recent interview.

Regarding that Wiz Khalifa collaboration, Kelley added: “Man, if I’m 110 percent honest with you guys, we actually don’t even know for sure, to be honest. It’s hard to tie him down. We’ll see what happens. It’s definitely not a definite.”

Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard aren’t the only ones interested in benefiting from Wiz Khalifa’s musical expertise. Courtney Noelle, who recently signed to the rapper’s Taylor Gang Entertainment label, is also anxious to learn whatever she can from her childhood pal. The singer told Ebony magazine that she was preparing to kick her dreams into the gutter when the rapper appeared in her life.

“Wiz and I grew up together. After ‘Black and Yellow’ came out, he invited me to perform with him in New York. I got fired from my job, but it was the best thing I could’ve done,” she told the publication.

She added, “Wiz is like my brother. ‘The Love on the Run’ mix-tape was done to be given away while I’m working on a ‘Love on the Run EP’ that will feature new songs and remixes, and will be released this summer.”

Of course, Wiz Khalifa is also busy working on his own material. The rapper recently released the tune “MAAN,” a marijuana-flavored remix of ScHoolboy Q’s “Man of the Year.” Check out the video for the song below.
