Jennifer Esposito Dishes On Bradley Cooper In New Memoir

Jennifer Esposito’s memoir tackles her struggle with celiac disease. However, she did make some room in the book for Bradley Cooper.

For those who don’t pay much attention to celebrity relationships these days, Esposito was famously married to the Silver Lining’s Playbook star between 2006 and 2007. As you can tell, their relationship didn’t exactly work out. Unfortunately for Cooper, Jennifer spent a bit of time discussing her marriage to the actor in her new book.

Jennifer’s Way: My Journey with Celiac Disease — What Doctors Don’t Tell You and How You Can Learn to Live Again doesn’t mention Bradley by name, but the New York Daily News claims the person who receives a fair amount of literary lashing is definitely her ex-husband. However, the actress’ publisher doesn’t want readers to focus on that part of the story.

“This book is about my journey with celiac disease and only that. To refer to anything other than the subject at hand or to make this book about anything else is an insult to me and this disease that plagues so many,” Jennifer Esposito said in a statement.

Although the former Blue Bloods star isn’t happy that so many publications are focusing on this part of the book, it’s possible that she should have thought about this situation before deciding to include the Bradley bit in the final draft.

What did Jennifer have to say about Bradley? The folks at People magazine were kind enough to post a passage from the memoir.

Check it out:

“He was funny, smart, cocky, arrogant, and a master manipulator. I didn’t necessarily find him that attractive, but I figured that I could enjoy his sense of humor and nonsense for a while. We had fun, but he also had a mean, cold side. His personality could flip on a dime, but that kind of behavior was familiar to me.”

UPI provided this section from the book:

“I’d spent plenty of time walking on eggshells in my childhood home as well as on certain sets, so I quickly learned my role in the relationship and went forward accordingly. But the relationship was about him and what he needed, and nothing else… It wasn’t all bad all the time, so I figured this was just my lot, and I took the good with the bad, even though the bad was extremely bad.”

It’s understandable that Esposito is upset that struggle with a serious medical condition is getting overshadowed by her failed marriage, but the actress should definitely look on the bright side. This slice of info about Bradley may help move a few more copies of Jennifer’s Way in the long run. At the end of the day, that should make her publisher — and her bank account — extremely happy.
