Jenny McCarthy Backpedals, Is ‘Certainly’ Not Against Vaccines

Jenny McCarthy’s seemingly new stance on vaccines was reiterated this morning on Good Morning America, where she explained that she was not opposed to vaccinating kids — despite a large public outcry regarding her position.

As The Inquisitr reported last month, Jenny McCarthy recently denied ever being opposed to vaccination, in fact defining herself as being supportive of vaccines.

In April, she’d said:

“I am not anti-vaccine. This is not a change in my stance nor is it a new position that I have recently adopted. For years, I have repeatedly stated that I am, in fact, ‘pro-vaccine’ and for years I have been wrongly branded as ‘anti-vaccine.'”

Speaking this morning to Good Morning America host Lara Spencer, McCarthy, 41, solidified her embrace of vaccination, and further explained:

“Everyone should ask questions, but I’m certainly not against them.”

Blaming “people not doing their own critical thinking,” Jenny added of her earlier op-ed:

“I think people should read exactly what I have said instead of reading headlines, and that’s why I wanted to write that piece… Everything that I have said and everything that I believe in is in that piece, so I hope people will go and refer to that so they know exactly what I’ve been saying.”

McCarthy now frames her vaccine debate role as a “quest,” saying that as a mother, she was obligated to investigate the root cause of her son’s medical challenges.

Jenny elucidates:

“My beautiful son, Evan, inspired this mother to question the ‘one size fits all’ philosophy of the recommended vaccine schedule… I embarked on this quest not only for myself and my family, but for countless parents who shared my desire for knowledge that could lead to options and alternate schedules, but never to eliminate the vaccines.”

Also on the discussion docket for The View‘s host was her new engagement to former New Kids On The Block star Donnie Wahlberg.

McCarthy, who in the past dated star Jim Carrey for years, dished on her betrothal — swearing that she’d sworn off dating for a year before meeting Wahlberg.

Jenny explains:

“I waited a year without dating, if you can believe it… I literally said, ‘This is specifically what I want in a man,’ and there he came.”

On which New Kids On The Block member was her favorite, she adds:

“I no doubt believe I got the cutest one.”
