Duggar Daughters Dish On Growing Up Duggar (Video)

The Duggar family is known for their outrageous amount of children, as seen on their TLC show 19 Kids and Counting. Parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar seem to have everything under control and have things down to a science from home schooling, creating and maintaining a budget, assigning the older children to a younger child to help them with day to day activities, and the Duggar parents still have time for a date night each week.

Four of the Duggar daughters, Jana, Jill, Jessa, and Jinger, have ventured out in writing a book that describes all the fun details of Growing Up Duggar:It’s All About Relationships. Who wouldn’t want to know what it is like to be one of the nineteen Dugger kids?

In the Duggar girls’ book, Growing Up Duggar: It’s All About Relationships, they discuss the day to day life of being a part of such a large family, and how they are successful in their familial relationships with one another. During an interview with The 700 Club, Jessa Duggar says none of them are perfect, and they realize that everyone will have a bad day, but to always be willing to humble yourself and ask for forgiveness if needed. She says that makes all the difference in getting along with one another.

The Duggar sisters also talk about relationships outside the home, in reference to dating. Actually, according to ReligiousDispatches.org, the Duggar girls don’t “date” but instead describe it as a “courtship” with no kissing and only side hugs. They believe their relationships will develop stronger because the communication they share between themselves and the man they are courting will be the focus. They are truly learning about each other during the courtship of their relationship.

TimesFreePress.com reports that although the Duggar family’s beliefs on purity seem radical to the mainstream in every aspect, Jana, Jill, Jessa and Jinger Duggar say they receive “hundreds of fan questions each week, asking their opinions on boys, makeup, fashion, dating and sex.” And those are exactly the things the Duggar girls address in their book.

It’s actually very pleasant when you think about today’s society. The Duggar sisters want to emphasize to girls not to only be attracted to a boy because of his outward appearance, but to focus on his inside character, as the Duggar sisters mentioned in their interview on The 700 Club. They want girls to ask themselves tough questions. How will this guy be as a father? Will he be slow to anger? Will he be a spiritual leader? Will he have a love for the Lord?

The Duggar sisters also have a list of requirements that they expect themselves to live up to for their future husband. It goes both ways.

This book seems like a must read for all ages. The Duggar sisters seem to be wise beyond their years and are strong godly women with tender spirits. Be sure to check out the Duggar sisters’ book Growing Up Duggar: It’s All About Relationships.
