Group Of Guys Rent RV For Bachelor Party Trip To Kentucky Derby, Make Shocking Find Inside
A group of guys from Minnesota decided to rent an RV and drive to the Kentucky Derby for their friend’s bachelor party, but about two hours into the trip, they made a shocking discovery.
The group had stopped at a discount store in Winona, Minnesota, when one of them decided to open up a front compartment that the RV’s owner had warned them not to open. A rotten smell immediately overtook the bachelor party, so they opened another front compartment to see if they could find the source of the stench.
There, inside the other compartment, they found a dead man, with bare feet and pants on.
The corpse didn’t look fresh, reveler Jake Winek said.
“We weren’t really too interested in poking around in there,” said Wanek.
The bachelor party immediately called the police, who questioned the men at length before letting them go and keeping the RV as evidence. The dead body was turned over to the Mayo Clinic.
The dead man was identified as 22-year-old Kevin Casserly of Anoka, Minnesota, who had been missing since November. Though the story may be taking a humorous twist across the many media outlets picking it up, for family and friends who had been searching for Kevin it ended in tragedy.
“After 24 weeks of searching, it is with heavy hearts that we share with you that Kevin’s body was recovered on Thursday,” a post on his Facebook page noted. “Though not released and laid to rest yet, he will be. It is no longer a question of when and where. To all the volunteers who helped us search for Kevin, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Words cannot express how much the support has meant to all of us and Kevin’s family.”
The whole sequence was shocking for the bachelor party, with groom-to-be Dan Trainor saying it “was like we were in the middle of a movie.”
Police did not give a cause of death for the dead man. The bachelor party never made it to the Kentucky Derby, but they did watch the race from a track in the Twin Cities.
