‘Wobbly’ Cat Had A Little Trouble Not Wobbling, This Cattle Dog Made It His Business To Protect Her

First of all, this video comes with a warning: too much cuteness can be hazardous to your health. After watching this one, you could very possibly succumb to a massive cute attack and melt in a puddle of cute on the spot.

That being said, if you’re the type of person who can’t get enough of cats and dogs hanging out together, The Inquistr is here to meet your needs. If you’re not that type of person, well, we feel a bit sorry for you.

This video comes from an Australian group, Wakaleo Animal Channel, an organization that distributes all kinds of adorable animal videos and information through its YouTube and Facebook pages.

The story here is about Ralphee, a little kitten born with a condition called feline cerebellar hypoplasia. This condition arises when a cat’s cerebellum, the portion of the brain that governs motor skills, does not fully develop. This can be caused by the cat’s mother contracting a virus while pregnant or some other pre-natal trauma.

The end result is a kitten with a poor sense of balance, hence the nickname “wobbly cat.” When you watch this video of Ralphee, you’ll see exactly what that means.

But never fear, Ralphee has a guardian angel, or at least a guardian dog.

The cattle dog, Max, immediately became concerned with Ralphee as soon as the kitten was born. Now the two are fast friends and Max is always there to make sure Ralphee stays on the straight and narrow — literally. Because, that’s not easy for Ralphee to do.

“Ralphee is growing more mischievous by the day and loves to see what Max is doing as well. She will often get excited when he is nearby and leap in the air before playfully charging in his direction,” the Wakaleo folks say. “Despite her condition, Ralphee is a happy cat who, like most kittens loves affection and causing all sorts of trouble wherever she goes.”

Cats with “CH,” as the condition is known, may have no other health issues and live as long as any other cat. So Ralphee and Max have many years of hanging out ahead of them.
