Seth Rogen Wasn’t Down To Perform ‘Bound 2’ At Kimye’s Wedding [Video]

Seth Rogen doesn’t think performing at Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s wedding would be the best idea. Although his partner in crime James Franco seemed to think it was a pretty neat idea at first, Rogen had immediate reservations.

Before we get into Rogen’s opinion on the whole ordeal, let’s back up and explain where the image of Rogen and Franco performing at the Kimye wedding came from. A few months ago, James Franco and Seth Rogen paired up during the filming of their new comedy to parody Kanye’s Bound 2 video. The original video, which Kanye debuted on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, featured a fantastical video of West and Kardashian riding on a bike, amongst other things.

Kim Kardashian tweeted support of the parody when it went viral, but West was silent, which prompted Franco and Rogen to think that the otherwise vocal rapper hated it. Contrary to their initial thoughts, West was so pleased with the parody that he wanted the two to perform the song on his wedding.

According to Franco, here’s how it went down:

“Two weeks ago, we got a call from Kanye. Seth and I were on the phone. We thought he was just going to let us have it. But he loved it! And I’m pretty sure I can say it now because I’m pretty sure it’s not going to happen: he wanted us to perform it live the night before his wedding at Versailles.”

Although Franco seemed to be pumped up at the possibility at first, Rogen noted that it might not have gone down well in person in front of Kanye and Kim’s family and friends. The Neighbors star recently told Ellen DeGeneres during their interview the reason why he didn’t think it would be a great idea if he and Franco showed up to the wedding of the century.

“We were like, ‘And then what do we do?’ And then we were all like, ‘I don’t know. That’s probably not going to be very funny then. I would be there naked, with a shirt off, however he wanted me, on a motorcycle, doing whatever he needed, because I’m a fan. That’s just as a fan.”

Franco also echoed Rogen’s statement about the idea only being great on paper:

“It would have been awesome for about 20 seconds, but then there would be Seth with his shirt off in front all the Kardashians.”

At least we’ll always have the parody.
