Jamie Dornan Finds ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Attention A Little ‘Ridiculous’

Jamie Dornan is a little overwhelmed by all the attention he’s receiving these days for his role in the highly-anticipated flick Fifty Shades of Grey.

The adaptation of author E.L. James’ erotic novel is one of the most talked about motion pictures in recent memory. Outside of a few superhero flicks and J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars sequel, it’s difficult to find a movie that has generated this sort of excitement. The fact that Universal Pictures is opening the film one day before Valentine’s Day suggests the studio understands its audience.

However, Jamie Dornan doesn’t really understand all the buzz surrounding the picture. While fans of the book can’t wait to see the guy portray Christian Grey on the big screen, Dornan thinks the attention he’s receiving these days is little “ridiculous.”

“It’s just all a bit silly the way it works. I think I could lose my mind,” Jamie Dornan told The Guardian. The actor added that he couldn’t wait to get back to work on the television series The Fall.

Although the publication tried its best to pull some details about the movie from Dornan’s brain, he said the studio isn’t letting anyone associated with the flick discuss the project at-length.

“I don’t think I’m allowed to say anything mate,” he remarked.

The New York Daily News points out that Jamie Dornan is hoping to land a few projects in the near future that don’t involve tying up women. However, the actor said he has learned a few things because of his recent work.

“There are a couple of classic knots I know now. And I’ve put them to good use far too many times recently. In fact I’d like to do a job where I don’t have to tie women to beds,” Dornan explained during his recent interview.

Since Dornan has stayed busy career-wise for quite some time, he’s definitely looking to take some time off. Instead of immediately jumping into a new project, Jamie revealed that he intends rest a bit and see how people feel about these endeavors.

“Right now I don’t need to work if there’s nothing that I want to do. I’ve done three jobs back to back. Let’s see how they are received. If there’s nothing I want to do, I’ll just play golf and change [diapers],” he said.
