Madonna and Guy’s Divorce Settlement Statement “Inaccurate”

Madonna and Guy Ritchie’s reported divorce settlement of $76 mill has been called “inaccurate” in a joint release. The two submitted a statement to the press, claiming:

“We have tried to maintain a dignified silence regarding the details of our divorce for the last few months whilst accepting the obvious media interest. A misleading and inaccurate statement, specifically in relation to the sums of money involved, was wrongly issued…this week.”

E! says this new release is an attempt to “play down the exorbitant figures” of their settlement. Some think that Madonna was secretly getting back at Guy, and that Ritchie hit back at reported figures that were ”far too high.” 

The joint statement officially states “The financial details of the settlement will remain private, save to say that both of us are happy with our agreement.”

And on to the custody battle! Of course, they’ll be “happy” with whatever is decided– publicly, that is.
