Twilight Zone Creator Rod Serling To Receive His Own Biopic

Rod Sterling brought us some of the best and most imaginative sci-fi and fantasy programming on television in the 20th century, creating and taking the helm at such classics as The Twilight Zone and Night Gallery and now we have learned that his own Bureau of Moving Pictures production house has picked up the rights to tell his story in a new biopic.

The biopic is being written by Wall Street writer Stanley Weiser and the movie will focus on Serling’s life before and after his TV successes.

If you’re unfamiliar with the life of Rod Serling, he was a World War II Army veteran fighting against the Japanese, while later moving into radio before writing The Twilight Zone series followed by Night Gallery.

According to the biopic’s director Andrew Meieran:

“Rod Serling was one of the true visionaries in television history. He single-handedly broke the mold and established television as a powerful artistic medium capable of changing the world when used wisely.”

It’s still uncertain at this time who will play Serling in the movie. In the meantime, feel free to share your favorite Twilight Zone memories in our Facebook comments section at the bottom of this page. I for one hope they do justice to the movies score which was always one of the eeriest parts of each episode.
