Robert Pattinson Drops Out Of ‘Mission: Blacklist’

Robert Pattinson has dropped out of the film Mission: Blacklist due to scheduling conflicts. According to Gossip Cop, Pattinson couldn’t take on the role of military interrogator Eric Maddox in the film — an intriguing, different character for him to play. The character was a far cry from Robert’s famed Edward Cullen from the Twilight series and could have earned him an award nomination at the very least.

Mission: Blacklist is a thriller about the hunt for Saddam Hussein and will be directed by Jesper Ganslandt. At this point in time, a replacement for Pattinson has not been named. With Robert’s face already on the movie poster, it’s unclear exactly how far along production is, but it doesn’t sound like Robert even started filming yet. It appears as though he has done at least one preliminary photoshoot for the film, which shouldn’t set production back too much.

Mission: Blacklist is slated to be released later this year. It is possible that the release date could get pushed back due to Robert Pattinson’s exit. Names that come to mind when thinking of this specific role include Channing Tatum, Chris Pine, and Zac Efron. Who do you think would be a good replacement for the role?

Robert Pattinson fans were excited to see him take on a more serious role but it’s not like he doesn’t have any other movies in the works. According to IMDb, Pattinson has quite a few movies coming out over the course of the next year and a half. Rob’s latest film, Maps To The Stars, will likely make its official debut at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival next month and is slated for release in France on May 21. It is unknown if the film will be released nationwide in The States.

Maps To The Stars marks Pattinson’s second time working with director David Cronenberg (the two worked together on Cosmopolis, which flopped). Other actors in Maps To The Stars include Julianne Moore, Mia Wasikowska, John Cusack, Olivia Williams, Sarah Gadon, and Evan Bird. With this kind of cast, one would think that the film would get some legs but Cannes should be a good indication of that.

Robert Pattinson has also filmed The Rover (2014), Queen of the Desert(2014), and Life (2015). He is scheduled to begin filming two movies: The Childhood of a Leader and Hold On To Me which will both be released next year. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Pattinson’s career could get a serious boost from his role in The Rover. The film is highly anticipated and will likely be the next time you will get to see Robert on the big screen (assuming Maps To The Stars isn’t released prior).
