Amber Alert: Maliah Harris Missing, Infant Sister Found Dead

Mississippi – An Amber Alert has been issued for a missing 2 year old girl after she and her parents disappeared several hours ago near Lowndes County, MS.

Her infant sister was found dead this morning.

Police put out the Amber Alert for Mahliah Harris. Investigators believe the girl has been taken by 34 year old Donald Harris, and 31 year old Alison Studdard, who have been identified as her parents.

According to the Amber Alert, the three of them are are likely traveling in a brown or black 2002 Pontiac Aztec with Georgia license license plate PGR7927, according to the Mississippi State Highway Patrol.

Maliah’s 7-month-old sister was found deceased in the family’s home in Caledonia on Wednesday morning, said Investigator Eric Granderson with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department. At this point in the investigation, the deceased child does not seem to show signs of violence, according to Granderson.

“The autopsy is pending. It doesn’t look like there are apparent injuries,” Granderson said.

According to the Amber Alert, Maliah is described as a white female child.

Donald Harris, 34, is 5’11” with blue eyes and dark hair. He weighs 201 lbs. Allison Studdard, 31, is 5’7?, 107 lbs., and has blue eyes and brown hair. Investigators believe that the couple may be headed either to Alabama or Georgia.

Granderson said if anyone sees the couple, not to try to detain them.

“They shouldn’t be approached, call the authorities and we’ll handle it,” he said.

WTVA interviewed Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Marc Miley, who stated that it was the grandfather who discovered the body of Maliah Harris’s 7 month old sister at approximately 5:30 this morning. He made the 911 call that led to the Amber Alert.

Local and State Police are asking for anyone with information regarding the disappearance of Maliah Harris to step forward, and may call anonymously if need be.
