The “Banga Banga” singer rose to popularity thanks in part to the internet, a fact that is becoming more commonplace with each passing year. Before his material started popping up on radio stations, Mahone fanatics could simply jump on YouTube and watch their favorite singer’s latest musical endeavors. The rest, as they say, is history.
According to Variety, Austin Mahone is teaming up with the folks at ShowMobile to curate all of his social media-related content into one easy-to-use app. Instead of cruising from one platform to another, fans of the singer can download the program and browse through everything in one place.
“Having everything in one place so my Mahomies don’t have to go from app to app is a no-brainer,” Austin said in a statement. Considering the amount of content the guy releases on social media, he definitely has a point.
If you’ve never heard of ShowMobile, then chances are you’re not a teenager. According to the Denver Business Journal, the app was specifically designed for folks who have grown up with on-demand content. In other words, waiting around for their favorite music video to show up on MTV is an understandably archaic idea.
The website explains:
“ShowMobile’s business model is based on the idea that brands will want to advertise in an app that reaches a generation of consumers that have never adopted traditional TV watching and music-buying habits. Its technology combines online video, social media text and in-app messages.”
Austin Mahone’s deal with the company is definitely wise. Considering he has millions of followers on YouTube and Twitter, providing all of that content into one easily-digestible channel will make delivering news, photos, and videos to his fans effortless.
KidScreen points out that Austin Mahone fans who use the app on a regular basis can earn something called ShowMobile Stars, a form of currency used to purchase an array of virtual merchandise. Folks who decide to collect their Mahone-oriented content through the app will also have access to exclusive content.
Mahone fans who can’t wait to get their hands on the latest offering from the singer can download ShowMobile for Android and iOS right now. In addition to Austin’s channel, users also have access to the family-friendly series HitStreak. Chances are more channels will follow in the coming months.
