Jennifer Lawrence Debuts New Hairstyle, Easier Costume Change Could Lead To ‘X-Men’ Spin-Off

Jennifer Lawrence has been spotted with a new hairstyle as she walked through New York City.

Lawrence decided to cut her hair down into a pixie style hairdo back in November, explaining that her bouffant “couldn’t get any uglier” after the damage she had caused it from styling and dyeing.

At the time she added, “It was just kind of like [shoulder-length] and it grew to that awkward, gross length. I just kept putting it back in a bun, and I said, ‘Well, I don’t want to do this,’ so I just cut it off.”

Meanwhile, Simon Kinberg, the producer/writer for X-Men: Days Of Future Past, has admitted that the fact Lawrence can now change into her Mystique make-up in just a few hours means that she might agree to do a spin-off film.

Previously, on X-Men: First Class, it took artists seven or eight hours to apply the make-up to Lawrence’s face. However, for Days Of Future Past this was reduced to just three or four hours.

Fox have recently announced that they want to explore different X-Men characters with their own solo films, which immediately saw fans pleading for a deeper examination of Lawrence’s Mystique. This speculation was then exacerbated after Simon Kinberg announced that he would be interested in penning this script.

Yahoo Movies! asked for an update on the proposed film’s progress and Kinberg declared, “I have no idea if there will be a Mystique spin-off.”

He then explained, “We got Jen’s makeup [application] down from I think seven or eight hours on X-Men: First Class to about three or four on this film, which is pretty awful but at least it’s not torture. On the last film, I think she’d have to get there sometimes at midnight the night before we shot and sit in that makeup trailer and I guess just sleep until we started. This was more bearable and we were more conscious of when she was blue not having her sit around.”

It was alleged that Lawrence called the laborious make-up process “Mystink,” but the fact that this has been severely reduced means that she could be tempted to play the character in her own solo project.
