First time mom Alicia Silverstone officially introduced Bear Blu Jarecki, her 9-week old darling baby boy, to the world in an exclusive US Weekly photo shoot, which hit the stands Wednesday.

After going off the radar for nearly six weeks following her sons birth, the 34-year-old Clueless star finally shared with the popular magazine her reasoning behind going hermit-mode.

“I wanted to soak in every moment of his scrumptiousness.”

As for Christopher Jarecki, Bear’s father, Silverstone added that he’s been a hands-on daddy.

“He’s great at changing him and giving baths, and he massages him a lot,” she said.

When asked who came up with the unique, but uber-cute name Bear Blu, Alicia responded:

“We had narrowed our list to five boy names, and then we couldn’t really decide,” she told Us Weekly. “he suggested Bear or Blu, and I loved them both.” She jokingly continued later, when asked to describe her son, “[Blu is] part squirrel, part monkey and part peanut.”

Congrats again, Alicia and Chris, on a healthy and adorable baby boy.

Why do people give their kids such rediculous names? You do realize don't you that they have to grow up in an already VERY cruel worldand they are the poor suckers who are stuck with the awful stigmas the idiot parents place upon them in the name of 'cuteness'. Sure it's all fine when they are babies, but as soon as they start school…..

  6. He has one of those faces that looks like a grown person. So cute. I happen to like his name. They could call him BB for short.

  7. "Bear" was a nickname given by his sister, not his real name.

  9. Wow.. Alicia still looks great for just having a baby 2 months ago, must be her Vegan diet?

  10. I don't think celebrity kids have to worry about school children teasing them about their name, they usually get home schooling anyway. Also, it is my opinion and through my experience that people with very unique names turn out with fantastic personalities to match!

  11. "How do you do…my name is Sue!" Johnny Cash

These Hollywood stars HAVE to be on some serious kind of drugs to give their children such RIDICULOUS names. They don't live in the same world that the rest of us live on.
