Raven-Symone, the 25-year-old former Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper star, has been quite the talk of the town lately, well at least my town.

Having dropped a reported 35 pounds earlier this year, Symone is finally making her return to television screens all over the country in ABC Family’s new comedy, State of Georgia, which is set to premier tonight at 8:30pm EST.

In the new show, Raven plays the role of charismatic Georgia Chamberlin, an aspiring actress from Atlanta who moves into her rich aunt’s New York City condo with her best friend Jo (Majandra Delfino), who’s seeking to become a physicist.

The pair make ends meet by working at a variety of entry-level jobs, their first is at a high-end department store, where the duo can be seen spritzing shoppers with perfume as they wander past.

When recently asked about her character in the new half-hour series, Symone had the following to say:

“She’s a strong-willed individual, though she can be flighty at times. Her core is her family and friends.”

In the video below, Raven-Symone and Majandra Delfino talk to 7online about their roles in the upcoming comedy series and the bond that they are developing by working together.

What was That's So Raven called before That's so Raven?

  10. This show will be a flop. Hollywood keeps shoving her in our face like they did Jackee(or whatever the hell her name was) back in the 80's and 90's.

  14. David, but she was a little tiny Raven star on Hanging with Mr. Cooper. It's not a matter of "Research" because everyone knows she was on That's so Raven. In fact if anything quoting a very early TV role for her shows MORE research then just babbling on about a common role she carried.

  15. Um not so much, although I appreciate the response, the article implies by the words "former" & "star" that this show was a highlight in her career, this show was merely a stepping stone for her, and if you ask 10 people to name 3 things she stars in I'm pretty sure hanging mr copper isn't one of them, if they wanted to be different I would have been more impressed with a Kim possible reference or little rascals Thats different, I just feel using that reference short-sizes her career
