Guild Wars 2 Dungeons Detailed, Eight Minutes of Combat Footage

ArenaNet is starting to drop a whole bunch of Guild Wars 2 info after holding a press event in Germany this week, including an eight-minute long video showing us a healthy dose of Guild Wars 2‘s combat and one of its dungeons.

First up, ArenaNet detailed just how the game’s dungeon system will work in a post over on the Guild Wars 2 website. As developer Jeff Grubb explains, the game currently has eight dungeons, the earliest of which is accessible starting at level 35. The goal, Grubb explains, is to create open-ended, sandbox-style instances with a compelling story to go along with it.

Dungeons are split up into two modes: story mode, which, as the name suggests, is story-focused and suitable for casual groups; explorer mode, on the other hand, offers up a significant challenge boost, emphasizing teamwork to make it through each encounter. To unlock the latter mode, you’ll need to have completed the dungeon’s story mode first.

Next up, VG247 released a cinematic trailer for one of the game’s eight dungeons, as well as a lengthy video showcasing the game’s combat in one of the dungeons. You can check both of those videos out below.
