Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas Together Again?

Hollywood relationships are often “on-again, off-again” affairs, and it looks like Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas are finally back “on-again”. According to the LA Times, the couple made their first official public appearance together since their announced split in August of last year. Zeta-Jones and Douglas appeared on the red carpet for the off-Broadway opening of The Library at the Public Theater in New York. The pair appeared very cozy with each other according to the report, even though their appearance come without an official announcement that they are back together.

USA Today reports that Catherine Zeta-Jones was indeed wearing her wedding ring as the couple walked into the premiere. Catherine was also looking extravagant in a long black dress with a plunging neck line and showing off a new hair style. Michael was more casual in a charcoal suit sans tie.

When Zeta-Jones and Douglas split last year, their rep said that the couple would be doing “work on their marriage,” and in recent months it seems they have been doing just that. The couple have spent time together with their kids in Manhattan, took a New Years family ski trip in Canada, and even attended the Super Bowl together earlier this year.

Zeta-Jones and Douglas came together again for the opening of The Library this past Tuesday at the invite of the director, Steven Soderbergh. Catherine Zeta-Jones has appeared in the Soderbergh directed films Side Effects, Traffic, and Ocean’s Twelve. Douglas has also worked with Soderbergh on several occasions including HBO’s mini-series Behind the Candelabra. The Inquisitr covered reports that a divorce was in the works after Zeta-Jones refused to attend the Golden Globes with Michael.

“We were just taking a little break. We’re talking. I think everything will be fine, and I’m very hopeful,” Michael said when speaking about he and Catherine Zeta-Jones backstage at the Emmys in September. He had just picked up an award for his performance in Candelabra. Catherine remained tight-lipped on the couple’s status during their announced split.

Zeta-Jones was reported to have moved into a “house next door” back in March by Douglas’ mother, who talked to Hello!. The 91 year old told the magazine that the couple’s marriage was back on track, and that they had been spending quite a bit of time together. Catherine and Michael have also been spending as much time as possible with their two children, Dylan, 13, and Carys, 10.

For now at least, it appears that Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas are working out their differences, and the appearance of the celebrity pair on the red carpet is a welcome site to many fans who were heartbroken by their separation.
