Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Founder Heads To Yahoo Beauty

The founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics is taking her beauty tips to Yahoo.

Brown, who is the CCO of the aforementioned cosmetics company, has reportedly worked with the folks at Yahoo Beauty for the past several months, putting together a team of beauty experts. According to her blog, Everything Bobbi, she’s assembled a group that includes Katie Couric, Virginia Heffernan, Matt Bai, and David Pogue.

“I’ve always said that if I wasn’t a makeup artist, I would love to be a teacher or an editor. Now, in an exciting and unexpected new role, I’ll get to do both,” the Bobbi Brown Cosmetics founder explained.

Brown doesn’t plan to treat her role as Editor in Chief lightly. In her blog post, Bobbi said that Yahoo Beauty is “poised to become the top source for cutting-edge news coverage, and I’m confident I’ll bring similarly strong content to Beauty and Lifestyle coverage.”

The Bobbi Brown Cosmetics CCO added:

“As EIC, I’ll work to curate smart, strong content that will teach women how to be their best selves. Since 1997, I’ve written and published eight books that explore my beauty philosophy—be pretty, be confident, be who you are. I’m really proud of this work, and I’m so excited to bring these ideas to a broader audience through Yahoo, which has 800 million — yes, you read that right — active monthly users. That’s a lot of pretty powerful.”

What sort of topics will the 56-year-old cosmetics mogul tackle during her time as Editor in Chief of Yahoo Beauty! The Huffington Post points out that Brown will probably cover subjects that focus on everyday beauty. In other words, Bobbi’s advice and pointers won’t begin and end with makeup.

“Beauty isn’t about looking perfect; it’s about celebrating your individuality. I already create a lot of content with social media, but my interest in beauty isn’t just about cosmetics. That’s what excited me about this opportunity. Beauty for me is lifestyle, empowerment, what you eat — so many things,” she explained.

If you need some Bobbi Brown-oriented material to keep you going until she gets the website in full swing, then you can always pick up a few items from her line of cosmetics. Should you require more beauty-related stimulation, then grab a copy of Brown’s book Everything Eyes: Professional Techniques, Essential Tools, Gorgeous Makeup Looks. The tome hit bookstores across the country on March 25.
