Drake Bell Claims No Justin Bieber ‘Feud,’ Continues To Mock Singer

Drake Bell is once again talking about Justin Bieber to promote his upcoming album in a new Celebuzz interview, but is now claiming he has “nothing against the kid” while also sticking to his line that some comments he made in an April 2 BuzzFeed profile were “completely taken out of context or misconstrued or misquoted.”

The Inquisitr notes BuzzFeed have not confirmed or denied whether Bell’s comments about Ariana Grande were misquoted.

To Celebuzz, Bell says of his previous incendiary comments:

“I don’t regret saying anything I say, ever,” he insists, and implies his near-constant goading of Bieber and his fans isn’t about “jealousy or anything. He’s a pop singer, I’m a rock and roll musician.”

Somewhat conveniently Bell didn’t mention his retweets of his fans insulting posts to Bieber or his own retweet of Seth Rogen’s “All jokes aside, Justin Bieber is a piece of s–t,” tweet back in January, as noted by the Huffington Post.

Bell’s highly selective recall of his online conduct sits at odds with previous slams of Bieber, Grande and Gaga as “repulsive” and “gross” role models for not getting on a “pedestal” and controlling each and every one of their millions of fans’ online activities.

Drake’s forgetfulness also contradicts his statement to BuzzFeed when he declared:

“If I catch one of my fans saying something improper, a gay slur or any derogatory term, I instantly tweet directly at them and say, ‘This isn’t how we do it.'”

Of his efforts back in January when he urged his own fans to sign a petition demanding the deportation of Bieber to his native Canada, Drake tells Celebuzz it wasn’t personal.

J-14 magazine who dubbed Bell the “Biggest Celebrity Bully of All Time,” fans of Lady Gaga, Bieber and Grande, and anyone who has ever observed Bell’s unilateral two-year bashing of Bieber by Bell on Twitter and elsewhere will likely double-take Drake’s self-portrait of himself as a reluctant but perfect role model.

At this point, we’re going to hold our hands up and and admit we don’t buy Bell’s attempts to downplay his fairly nasty BuzzFeed rant and later backtracking for two simple reasons:

1) For a self-declared “rock and roll musician” the ex-Nickelodeon star spends way too much time talking about anything but rock and roll. And 2); his actions don’t match his words.

Bell, as intended, made headlines after his BuzzFeed missive. In it, he unveiled his personal message of “unity and loving your neighbor” then promptly went on to diss Ariana and Justin as artists who were “found on YouTube and, boom, thrown into the studio so they think they can get anything they want.”

Of the Yours Truly songstress, Bell also said:

“Ariana Grande is a billionaire before she’s been an artist. You have to work to be able to appreciate what you have, and what work did she ever have to do in her life?” before going on to incorrectly claim the 20-year-old “fed” her fans’ online attacks of his pal Perez Hilton — notably after the blogger publicly accused Grande on Twitter of taking cocaine.

In fact, subsequent to Hilton’s trolling the “Baby I” singer tweeted:

Somewhat disingenuously, Bell attempted to recant his Grande comments by complimenting her voice, posting snaps of himself and her on Twitter, and tweeting on April 3:

“Didn’t say that about @ArianaGrande I lover her and think she is incredibly talented!! Just for the record :)”

As we have previously stated, Bieber’s run-ins with law enforcement are serious and should be regarded as such. His prankish behavior on and off his Believe tour? Not so much.

But Bell’s omission of positive fan-mobilizations and #giveback contributions Justin has made during his six-year career are self-serving to say the least.

In addition, Drake’s past and recent mocking of the singer with Aaron Carter – who recently tweeted about punching Bieber – undermines the reasonable points he claims he is making about fandoms and bullying behavior.

“The Belieber fans are out of control. That’s what got me engaged,” Bell tells Celebuzz, who added the 27-year-old has received death-threats after blasting Bieber and Gaga.

Of that, we note: If you choose to get in the sand-box with kids and put out hate online it will tend to come back in kid-like ways.

Perhaps in Drake’s mind he really does think slating other artists – while pretending he isn’t – is the best way to make an assault on Billboard charts and dig himself out of bankruptcy.

But for our money a serious “rock and roll musician” and “role model” as Bell claims to be might want to look at his own glasshouse and the stones he throws, before going after easy targets who don’t answer back.
