The “cat is out of the bag,” as we have learned that actress Rachel Weisz and James Bond star Daniel Craig have tied the knot in a secret New York ceremony earlier this Wednesday.
Craig, 43, and the Oscar-winning Weisz, 41, were secretly married in an event that was attended by just four people — Rachel’s 5-year-old son, Henry, Daniel’s 18-year-old daughter, Ella, and two friends of the couple who acted as witnesses.
“Daniel and Rachel insisted on having a small, quiet wedding,” a source reportedly told the News of the World. “They are madly in love and couldn’t wait to be husband and wife — but they wanted minimum fuss. They had a couple of friends as witnesses and their children from previous relationships and that was it.”
According to People Magazine, the newlyweds originally met on the set of their upcoming thriller, “Dream House,” each after ending long relationships — Weisz split from “Black Swan” director Darren Aronofsky, whom she was with for nine years while Craig parted ways with his producer girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell earlier in 2010.
Initially dismissing rumors of their romance in November, Rachel and Daniel went public on the relationship at Christmas when they spent the winter holiday together in a Dorset cottage.
Craig is currently preparing for the release of the Hollywood remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and he returns as the legendary spy James Bond in the 23rd movie in the series.
