Teen Wolf’s Producer To Head MTV’s Eye Candy Now

Teen Wolf Executive Producer Christian Taylor has been called in to act as the show–runner for a new MTV cyber thriller.

MTV’s Victoria Justice cyber thriller, Eye Candy is based on R.L. Stine’s best-seller. The plot centers on Lindy (Justice), a tech genius who, convinced by her roommate to begin online dating, starts to suspect that one of her mysterious suitors may be a deadly cyber stalker. When her friends at the cyber police uncover a potential serial killer in Manhattan, all signs point to one of Lindy’s dates. Teaming with a band of hackers, Lindy works to solve the murders while unleashing her own style of justice on the streets of New York, reports Hypable.

Victoria Justice stars as Lindy and is accompanied by Harvey Guillen (The Internship), who will play Juan. MTV is looking to create an MTV equivalent of highly popular crime show CSI and given Teen Wolf’s storyline and execution it will be certainly a challenging job for Taylor. While Teen Wolf is an ongoing saga, MTV programming president Susanne Daniels wants Eye Candy to have a rather in–present progress, “I can’t remember the exact storylines in the different CSI pilots, but I’m fairly confident that they didn’t linger on too much back story. They just got to it, and that’s what I think we need to do”

Teen Wolf producer Christian Taylor will act as Executive Producer for Eye Candy. Taylor will executive produce the 10 episode run scheduled by the network. Interestingly, there is no confirmation about Taylor’s continued association with Teen Wolf, reported Hollywood Reporter.

While Eye Candy has a futuristic plot which involves crime–solving story, Teen Wolf was more of a romantic thriller. In fact earlier executive Producer Jeff Davis had promised to instill even more romance into the plot. He had even divulged multiple tidbits about the upcoming Season Four. The audience seems to have completely lost in suspense of Scott and Kira’s love. The show has gone multiple revisions and has seen the departure of many a promising characters.

However, under Taylor’s leadership Teen Wolf gained the edge that helped the show gain much more fans and regular viewers. Hence given the popularity and success of Teen Wolf, MTV seems to be moving in the right direction in terms of both the subject matter of several of their new shows. Asking Teen Wolf’s Executive Producer Taylor to come on board is just icing on the cake.
