‘The Last Of Us’ PS4 Release Date, Further Details Revealed

The Last of Us PS4 release date has been rumored, along with some other details, following the leak of the game’s PS4 port in a banner ad on PSN. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the Last of Us PS4 version was accidentally confirmed in an unscheduled pre-order promotion on Sony’s network.

The Last of Us follows the travels of Joel, a grizzled middle aged man sucked out of a comfortable position of safety, and Ellie, the teenage girl he is charged with keeping safe and delivering to a safe location across town. The two have to survive a journey across a city ridden with zombies and cannibals, and along the way they share a story that sets the game apart from every zombie game which came before.

According to a recent listing on Amazon as well as the PSN banner ad, The Last of Us: Remastered will be its official title. A retailer in Spain has posted the Last of Us PS4 release date as June 19, at a sales price of the usual $60. It will be bundled with the Abandoned and Reclaimed Territories maps, and the Left Behind story DLC.

Just like other upgraded titles such as Tomb Raider, The Last of Us: Remastered will receive a graphical overhaul to 1080p, giving it a much more crisp and clean appearance, better lighting, and more dramatic shadow effects. This game will be given the full current gen treatment to make it even better than its PlayStation 3 cousin.

Just in case there was any doubt as to the announcement of The Last of Us PS4, Sony executive Shuhei Yoshida has given the official word that it is indeed genuine. While the Last of Us PS4 release date is still a rumor, further details have been promised “shortly.”

Would you buy The Last of Us: Remastered for PlayStation 4, or are you content with the PS3 Game of the Year winning version?
