Chris Brown Assault Case: Who Punched The Fan In The Face?

Chris Brown and his bodyguard Christopher Hollosy are facing misdemeanor charges relating to an incident last October in which a fan of Brown was allegedly punched in the face outside Washington’s W Hotel.

In court on Monday, Police Detective Kimberly Metivier testified that at the time of the incident Hollosy yelled out to officers on the scene to arrest him, and not Chris Brown, as he claims he was the one who threw the punch.

Metivier said: “He was yelling on his own accord that he was the one who did it… and not to arrest Mr. Brown,” claiming that Hollosy said, “I punched him — not Chris.”

To make matters even more complicated, Hollosy’s attorney, Bernard Grimm, asked that his client’s confession be suppressed as evidence, due to the fact that his client hadn’t been read his Miranda rights. The judge presiding, Patricia Wynn, denied that particular motion.

Chris Brown himself did not appear at the hearing on Monday, and has reportedly rejected a deal from prosecutors to plead guilty to simple assault. One of Brown’s lawyers, Danny Onorato, said that deal was rejected as “Chris Brown’s not guilty.”

The singer did some jail time last month, after violating his probation following his dismissal from a facility where he was undergoing court-ordered treatment. This was connected to his assault on Rihanna back in 2009. At that time, Chris Brown was sentenced to five years probation, community labor, and domestic violence counseling.

His probation was also revoked in July, after he was charged with a hit-and-run traffic accident in May. A judge in Los Angeles reinstated Brown’s probation in August when the singer agreed to complete an additional 1,000 hours of community service.

Chris Brown seems to be in violence related trouble quite often; he also had altercations with singer Drake and his crew in a New York club, and Frank Ocean in a parking lot on LA.
