Man Wearing ‘Drunk As Sh*t’ T-Shirt Busted For DUI

The fashion police meets the real police?

An Oregon man wearing a “drunk as sh*t” T-shirt found himself getting arrested for alleged DUI.

Unfortunately for the suspect, he wound up behind the wheel because his girlfriend — like many motorists these days — didn’t know how to operate a stick shift, leading to an unpleasant outcome. “Ross McMakin, a 21-year-old Corvalis resident, was collared after he drove his vehicle on the sidewalk, struck a parked car, and then assaulted his girlfriend when she tried to seize the car keys.”

Corvallis, Ore., police indicate that the girlfriend told him not to drive because he had consumed some adult beverages, but she was unable to use a manual transmission and drive the vehicle herself. After he allegedly got into the accident and then choked the woman, “he got back in his car, his girlfriend called police, and officers stopped him in traffic.”

With regard to the 3:30 am incident that occurred last Sunday, the Corvallis Gazette-Times police log reported that “A woman called 911 to report an impaired driver. She told dispatchers she had been at a party with her ex-boyfriend, who then drove her home. Believing he was too drunk to drive, she took his keys and ran into the house. She said the man followed her inside, where he slapped, pushed and choked her in an effort to get his keys back, then drove away. Police spotted the man’s green 1994 Ford Ranger pickup and pulled him over at Northwest Grant Avenue and Dixon Street for investigation of the complaint and for multiple traffic infractions.”

Reportedly the suspect had a BAC of more than twice the legal limit. He was booked into the local jail and released the next day. The woman only had minor injuries and did not request medical attention.

Charges against the motorist include DUI, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, harassment, and strangulation.
