Jennifer Love Hewiit Doesn’t Want To Stress About Her ‘Baby Weight’

Jennifer Love Hewitt doesn’t plan to stress about losing her “baby weight.” Instead, she simply wants to enjoy some quality time with her new daughter.

The former Client List star gave birth to Autumn a few months ago. However, Hewitt is just now starting to discuss life as a wife and mother. In addition to stopping by Ellen for a quick chat about her new roles, Jennifer also discussed a few personal things with the folks at Us Weekly.

While most actresses immediately start shedding pounds after the birth of their children, Jennifer Love Hewitt doesn’t seem too consumed with the situation. She explained that dropping the baby weight isn’t a very high priority at the moment.

“I really thought I was going to be super consumed with trying to get my body back to the way it was before, and now that I’m a mom, I’m like I don’t want to be that girl again because that girl didn’t have a baby and didn’t have a great husband and didn’t have this blissful existence that I’m having now,” Hewitt explained.

The new mom added, “I’ve been doing Zumba, and I’ve worked it out so the baby’s been doing Zumba with me. We dance together, and I carry her as a weight so we’ve been having fun that way. The body takes about six months to fully come back so I haven’t wanted to injure myself so I’ve been swimming because it’s low impact on my system.”

Jennifer Love Hewitt recently launched the L line of maternity clothes for the folks at Pea in the Pod. The Ghost Whisperer alum told E! Online that she still wears some of these pieces while trying to shed the baby weight.

“It just feels great to sort of be honest about the fact that it is tough and these clothes make it a little easier, make me feel beautiful. Everything hasn’t returned back to where I want it to be and [I want to] put on my other clothes and feel good about that,” Hewitt said.

She continued, “If your priorities are right, the baby’s most important. You have to eat to feed to your baby. And I have a girl so I want her to see some day why her mom has good self-esteem and good body issues. It gets you down sometimes, I’m not going to lie. I’ve had days where I’m like, ‘Ugh, I wish this was easier.’ But it’s not, and that’s okay.”
