Jennette McCurdy: ‘Sam & Cat’ Canceled By Nickelodeon Due To Naughty Pics?

Nickelodeon have placed their show, Sam & Cat, on a production hiatus. This has led rumors about its imminent cancellation to gather pace and it could all be because of its star, Jennette McCurdy’s recent naughty pictures fiasco.

Photos featuring McCurdy in just her lingerie were leaked last March, which then saw her sit out the Kids’ Choice Awards last Saturday because she was upset at Nickelodeon’s treatment of her. Now speculation has suggested that she has fallen out with her co-star, Ariana Grande, and that the network might simply cancel Sam & Cat because of these various issues.

The New York Daily News has reported, “The future of Sam & Cat is hanging by a silky thread after sultry selfies shot by one of the show’s thong-clad stars, Jennette McCurdy, were leaked online last month.”

Production on the kid’s show has now been stopped, and even though it has won several awards and it’s a rousing success, it has yet to be confirmed for a second season. It usually brings in around 4million viewers an episode.

McCurdy failed to attend Saturday’s ceremony, before teasing information about the reasons why via her Twitter account, you can read her full message by clicking on the link below in the Tweet:

While she also insisted that her messages had nothing to do with the pictures of her that were released:

TMZ have alleged that the dispute is actually the result of contract issues between Nickelodeon, McCurdy and Grande.

McCurdy is flummoxed because her co-star earns more money than she does, and while she has no issue with Grande she is annoyed at the way Nickelodeon have treated her.

Meanwhile, The Daily News has declared that Grande and McCurdy are actually feuding, and the latter has even fallen out with the big-wigs at the studio too. However, they fail to provide a clear reason for their disagreements.

A statement from Nickelodeon has tried to downplay these issues though: “We are wrapping up what was an unusually long production cycle of ‘Sam & Cat’, and everyone is understandably tired. We are going into our production hiatus next week which will give everyone on the show a much-needed rest.”

Either way, the future doesn’t look too good for Jennette McCurdy and Sam & Cat at the moment, and no-one would be surprised if the show’s production hiatus was extended to a full on cancellation in the near future.
