‘Wolverine: The Musical’ Performed By Hugh Jackman [VIDEO]

Hugh Jackman has enjoyed being an actor of differing characters. Jackman, at times would be one of the toughest mutants in Marvel history. At other times, Jackman would be an authority figure with the gift of singing. What if both characters were to combine to form something spectacular?

That recently happened when Hugh Jackman made an appearance on The Matt Edmondson Show on BBC Radio 1. According to Popsugar, Jackman performed a parody of the famous Les Miserables song, Who Am I. The new lyrics captured Wolverine’s perspective, which makes for a hilarious song, in which Jackman himself could not keep his composure. Throughout the performance, Jackman would either laugh or sing off-key. Still it was a great performance, especially with no practice time whatsoever.

Originally, Hugh Jackman came on the show to promote the next installment in the X-Men film franchise, X-Men: Days of Future Past, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. The upcoming film is considered the seventh in the series, and is directly a sequel to X-Men: Origins. Jackman will be reprising his role as Logan a.k.a. Wolverine along with many other actors from previous films from both the original trilogy and the newer films.

Continuity may become confusing since the upcoming film deals with a present and future storyline. Because of this, the older mutants will probably have to deal with their younger selves due to some sort of time event, such as time travel or disruption. This is only confirmed for Magneto, Professor Xavier, and Beast. It is unknown if other characters will be utilized for both present and future versions, but it is possible. Hugh Jackman is lucky since he is the original actor in the original trilogy and the newer movies. This is mostly because Jackman’s character, Wolverine, hardly ages due to Wolverine’s powers prolonging his life. In story canon, Wolverine is actually older than Professor Xavier and Magneto, yet the latter two look older.

The Inquisitr has reported numerous times on the upcoming film, in which Hugh Jackman is most likely the primary star of. It has been reported that Halle Berry may not be in the film, which came on the heels that Anna Paquin may not be in the film either. Another report was about Channing Tatum playing the role of Gambit. Then of course there are all the possibilities of the return of Cyclops, played by James Marsden.

Hugh Jackman will return as Wolverine when X-Men: Days of Future’s Past comes to theaters, May 23, 2015.
