New Video Game Releases for the Week of March 30, 2014
The new video game releases for the week of March 30 make the middle of spring feel like fall. There are a lot of games this week ranging from heavy hitters to nostalgia filled virtual console releases.
The biggest new video game release for the week is almost certainly The Elder Scrolls Online MMO which will bring the first person RPG to the online space after carving out a single player name for itself since its inception. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate is also a welcome release for the consoles after a somewhat disappointing showing on the PS Vita and 3D3. The map has been reworked and the textures have been given a nice console upgrade.
Some of the new video game releases are actually some of the first GameBoy Advance releases for the Wii U including Metroid: Fusion and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. The PlayStation Network is also getting another PS2 classic in the form of Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner.
However the crowning glory of this new video game list is the game that wasn’t even meant to be an actual game, Goat Simulator. What started as a quick tech demo from Coffee Stain Studios went viral on YouTube and the studio garnered so much interest that it decided to release it as a full game, bugs and all for $9.99 on Steam with a Mac and Linnux version planned down the road.
