Indie Filmmakers Get Some Loving From YouTube

YouTube is showing independent filmmakers some love by setting up a virtual screening room. The new feature which debuted last Wednesday gives a space to struggling filmmakers to showcase their work to a global audience.

The virtual screening room highlights four new films per week to be chosen by an editorial panel. Aside from submissions, the panel will also comb film festivals for indie films worth showcasing.

Though there is no definite amount that a filmmaker can make, a million viewers can usually bring in few thousand dollars per month. Not bad for a struggling filmmaker, especially the exposure that they can get from tons of YouTube traffic.
