Google Reader Notes In The Wild: All Good

I wrote Monday about Google’s addition of notes to Google Reader’s sharing service, but until now I hadn’t seen one in the wild. Short version: it’s all good. The notes are presented at the top of the shared item so you immediately see the note your sharing friend has left on it.

Obviously Google Reader + Notes isn’t completely FriendFeed yet, but ever so slowly it’s creeping in that direction. That one unanswered question though: why is this separate to Google Notes? Is Google balkanizing by department/ service?
