Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez: Jelena Duet ‘Unfamiliar’ Officially Confirmed
News that Justin Bieber and reported girlfriend Selena Gomez recorded a so-called Jelena duet titled “Unfamiliar” swept the Internet like wildfire two weeks ago.
According to a group of Toronto fans, Bieber played the song to them during an impromptu street stop in the city on March 14. Since then, tracks purporting to be the song have been uploaded online and sourcing remained speculative.
However, as per a Tuesday announcement from WeKnowTheDJ.com — the website of Tay James, the official Believe tour DJ and close friend of Bieber – a Wednesday site statement read:
“It is now confirmed that yes, indeed, Justin and Selena have recorded a song together.”
The website suggests “Unfamiliar“ is a highly personal relationship track just as “Love Will Remember” – a song on Selena’s Stars Dance album and Justin’s “Nothing Like Us,” which was a bonus cut on Believe Acoustic – also were. Both albums released in 2013.
As far as musical details about the Jelena duet, the WeKnowTheDJ team deferred to tweets sent by the Toronto fans, some of whom said Gomez was the main vocalist with Bieber in a cameo role. Others differed.
No release date is mentioned. In fact, it’s left open whether the duet will be put out at all.
Meanwhile, Bieber and Gomez still managed to raise temperatures this week without singing a note.
On Tuesday, the reunited pair teased revealing pictures on their respective Instagram and Twitter accounts at around the same time.
The “Confident” superstar teased two shots of himself wearing Calvin Klein underwear, low-slung pants and a patterned open shirt, and asked fans for their feedback on him featuring in a campaign.
“What if I do a Calvin Klein campaign?” the Canadian asked in the caption.”Comment below yes or no.”
Suffice it to say, the majority response was an effusive “yes.”
As yet Calvin Klein have neither confirmed or denied whether Justin will model for the brand.
The 20-year-old’s query subsequently disappeared off his Timeline, but Twitter Support later revealed a bug has been removing tweets from celebrity accounts, BBC News reports.
Justin also posted more Klein snaps, possibly with the same photographer who helped him recreate James Dean’s iconic Rebel Without a Cause pose, prompting much asinine online chatter.
Over in Selena’s virtual corner, the actress-singer was also dialling up the heat.
The 21-year-old shared a sexy back-shot of herself in figure-hugging shorts with added “Va Va Voom” booty peek, while looking into a stage-lit mirror and teasing Bardot-styled hair.

The Disney alum captioned the sexy image, writing, “… Secret project.”
Despite tabloid reports claiming Gomez has a drinking problem and is allegedly at war with her family over her rekindled romance with Bieber, the starlet was the picture of happiness at the We Day youth empowerment conference at Oakland’s Oracle Arena in California on Wednesday.
E! News reports Selena spoke about the pressures young people face, alongside celebrities such as Orlando Bloom, Magic Johnson, and Seth Rogen.
Backstage at the event, Gomez posted a photo of the famous group, writing:
“#Weday -unbelievable time. So inspired and hopefully encouraged many!!”
Bieber and Gomez reignited reunion talk after they were snapped during a reportedly PDA-filled weekend in Texas earlier this month. It was capped by two (since deleted) videos of the pair dancing amid public declarations of affection for Selena by Justin.
